This year we celebrate the 20th anniversary that under the guidance and with the support of Lama Ole we found and purchased the first territory of our Diamond Way Retreat and Meditation Center in Becske. On this occasion, we are pleased to invite you to the Mahamudra course with Lama Ole.

We recommend that you register for the ‘three meals a day’ option.

You may ask for meals for the whole course or only for certain days.

Lactose and gluten-free meals are available.

If you want to join any of our teams, which would be great due to the possible huge size of our course, please let us know in advance with your name and emailaddress + which kind of job you would like to do and we can add you to our team mailing lists. pls write to us: kiskovacs.miklos@gmail.com. Possible teams (kitchen, cafeteria, security, cleaning, car park, technical, job center, gompa, shop, dishwashing, info, massage, sound, garbage, child care, dharma shop). If you can come earlier and stay after let us know as well.

Accommodation Possibilities

Parking

Only in the guarded parking area opposite the Stupa. Parking fee: 4 € for the whole week or 1€/day.

No driving is allowed into the course area either by car or motorcycle because of the high number of participants. We appreciate your understanding. The speed limit in Petőfi street is 30 kph. Please respect the traffic regulations! Exit from the parking area is opposite the entrance, in the direction of Mikszáth street.

By Car

A) on motorway M3, take the exit at km-stone 39 (towards Bag, Tura, Aszód). Drive through Aszód following the direction of Balassagyarmat: Aszód, Iklad, Galgagyörk, Püspökhatvan, Acsa, Galgaguta, Nógrádkövesd, Becske.

B) on motorway M2, take exit ‘Rád, Vácduka’ (between km-stones 38 and 39) and turn towards ‘Rád’ at the crossroads, then – when driving through Acsa – turn towards Balassagyarmat, Galgaguta, Nógrádkövesd, Becske.

By Train

Timetable – MÁV (Hungarian Railways)-info: +36 40 49 49 49; http://www.mavcsoport.hu. The train leaves from ‘Keleti pályaudvar’. You need to change trains in Aszód and get off the train at Nógrádkövesd.

Shuttle service is available between the train station and the course area for 300 HUF or 1 € /ride. You can pay for this on the site.

With our direct bus transfer

The buses are full, no further registration is possible.

Take a bus directly from the Diamond Way Buddhist Center Budapest from the main entrance at 1074 Budapest, Rózsák tere 5., to Becske and back after the course.

  • Budapest-Becske: on 30th June leaving at 9:30 and 12:00
  • Becske-Budapest: on 04th July, after the programme
  • Bus ticket: 8 EUR / ride / person payable at registration.

By Public Transport

Buy 2 tickets.
Tickets for public transportation priced 350 HUF are available at the airport from BKK at its customer service points, from the post office, the newsagents (Relay) and from ticket machines at the bus stop. It is also possible to purchase a ticket from the bus driver for 450 HUF.
At the ticket machines you can pay with credit card.

  • Take bus 200E to Kőbánya-Kispest (KöKi) metro terminal.
    Validate one ticket on the bus.
  • Take the M3 blue metro towards Újpest Központ
    Validate one ticket at the entrance (orangew box).
  • Get off at Kálvin tér. Change to the M4 green metro line in direction to Keleti pályaudvar. No need to valdate a new ticket, the previous one is also valid on this line unless you get out of the station.

Camping in Becske, at the course site

What to bring with you

tent, plastic foil, duct tape, sleeping bag, meditation cushion, rubber boots, raincoat, flashlight, cutlery, plate, glass, tick repellent, sunscreen, basic medication.

Meals are gluten and lactose-free. If you are on a special diet, please bring food for yourself, and as we cannot provide individual food storage, please bring non-perishable food.

Please pay special attention to the following:

  • Tick alert!
  • Heat alert!
  • Save water!
  • Tap water in the course area is not drinkwater!
  • Selective rubbish collection!
  • Due to fire prohibitions individual fire setting and cooking is NOT ALLOWED!
  • Smoking is allowed ONLY in the designated areas!
  • Please do not bring dogs or other pets into the course area!

Blood donation during the course

Date: 3th July from 9am to 3pm

If you are an EU citizen and wish to donate, you may do so. You need proof of identity (passport or ID card) for this.

Child care

During the course child care is available for children between age 4 and 14. Child care is provided by professional helpers and parents. If you need child care, please register your child(ren). At registration we need your statement of consent on child care. The price is 1 EUR for half a day, and child care is adapted to the program, however we close the latest at 6pm. For families, we provide separate campsite behind the bathhouses, close to the playground.

We kindly ask parents to arrange drinking water, sun and tick protection for their child(ren) during the whole course. We would like to draw the attention of parents to pay attention to their older children and how they spend their time, in order not to harm themselves, their friends or the belongings and valuables of our friends and the community.
